What is the Rental Agreement?

 

A rental agreement is a formal contract signed by the customer and on behalf of London Car Rentals at the time of the checkout. This legal binding shows the terms and the conditions, the rate applied, insurance document.

What documents do I need to provide at the London Car Rentals Ltd when I pick the car up?

 

The customer needs to present a driving license in the customer's name, issued by the country of residence. The license must be a valid license (any license not readable must be accompanied by an International Driving License) and held for a minimum of one year. You will also need to present; valid  Credit card and any two identifications, in the form of any bill or Bank Statement, under the drivers name, with the drivers current permanent address on it. The bill must not be more than 8 weeks old. We do not accept a passport as an I.D.

Is there a maximum or minimum age requirement for renting a vehicle with London Car Rentals Ltd?

 

The minimum age for a driver to rent a vehicle  is 23 years and above. The license must be held with the driver for at least two year.

What method of payments are accepted ?

 

We accept Visa, MasterCard, Diners, American Express .

5.

Can another person other than a driver pay for the London Car Rentals Ltd rental?

 

Any person other than the driver can pay for the actual rental, by filling in a credit card authority form, taking full responsibility of the rental. A photocopy of the card used for payment  will be required.

What types of insurance can I get if I take London Car Rental 's insurance?

7.

Can I hire the car on my own insurance?

 

A valid insurance certificate/ Cover Note  needs to be provided at the time of the contract, stating clearly that London Car Rentals's vehicle, will be covered by the customers own insurance fully comprehensively.

Can I get a vehicle delivered and collected from my address?

 

You certainly can, but by paying an additional charge, which is agreed, with the London Car Rentals .

9.

Who will be liable for the congestion charge?

 

The congestion charge will be the liability of the customer. If you want us to pay for the congestion charge, we can do that but there will be additional charges involved. For more details call the branch.

10.

Can anyone other than myself drive the vehicle?

 

The name of the main driver is stated on the contract. Any additional drivers can be added on our insurance by providing a valid driving license. Additional charges will Apply.

11.

Will there be a deposit taken on my card when I collect the car?

 

There is a standard security deposit charge which is taken upfront on the customers card and varies from vehicle to vehicle. It is refundable on the return of the vehicle if there are no extra charges involved.

Is there a mileage restriction on the vehicle?

 

Not all cars are subject to a mileage charge. For more information please call London Car Rentals .

13.

Do I need to check the condition of the vehicle prior to leaving the location?

 

Before handing the keys over to the customer, we do a joint damage inspection, with the customer, on the damage inspection report. On this report, we note down the fuel level, the mileage, and the apparant damage on the vehicle.

Can I drive the rented vehicle into another country?

 

London Car Rentals  permits the customer to take the vehicle outside the geographical borders of Britain to a number of countries with prior notice and the arrangement of the additional insurance.

15.

What if I have an accident?

 

London Car Rentals  provides a 24 hour breakdown cover which needs to be dialed in case of any unfortunate event. In the event of a breakdown or an accident you will recieve prompt assistance.
An accident report form needs to be filled in by the driver in the case of an accident, giving a full account of the circumstances in which the accident happened.

16.

Can I extend the rental agreement?

 

You can certainly extend the rental agreement by contacting London Car Rentals, prior to the termination of the contract. The extension is subject to the vehicle availibility and extra payments. The extra charges will be calculated , with an authorisation requested on the given  credit card.

17.

What happens if I return the car late?

 

In most cases the returns of less that 1 hour late (59 minutes), will not be charged for any extra days. Any returns 60 minutes or later, will result in an extra days charge, to the customer, on return of the vehicle.

18.

Do I need to return the car with a full tank of fuel?

 

The fuel level that the car is rented with, has to be returned at the same level. Any shortage in the fuel level will be charged to the customer on return of the vehicle.
